Associate Professor

Associate Professor

As of August 2025, I serve as the Chair and Program Director for the Department of Occupational Therapy. I joined Creighton in 2010, serving as an Academic Clinical Education Coordinator. In my time as a faculty for the program, I have served as Vice Chair of Education and Clinical Practice and the Capstone Coordinator. I developed, with programmatic support, our first occupational therapy fellowship program for pediatric therapists and since then supported the development of two additional fellowship programs within the occupational therapy department. With a pediatric practice background, I provided clinical services through Creighton Pediatric Therapy for the Boys Town School system and have served as a mentor to the pediatric fellow for many years. I currently serve as an appointed board member on the AOTA Fellowship Program Review Committee to help advance the understanding of fellowships in the national landscape of OT. My previous role as the Capstone Coordinator has led me to pursue scholarship associated with clinical, capstone, and fellowship outcomes. My current research is centered on best practices for the implementation of the doctoral capstone and mentoring practices.

Research Focus

Best Practices in Doctoral Capstone including planning, implementation, outcomes, and scholarship. Effectiveness of Occupational Therapy Fellowship Programs; Clinical Education Best Practices; Outcomes of Student Participation in International Fieldwork Experiences
