Any faculty member may nominate a speaker. Our DLS Committee will work to balance speaker sites for presentations between Omaha and Phoenix campuses (with hybrid options). For chairs and deans, you are encouraged to use the trip to also provide your faculty and learners with other opportunities to engage with the speaker as well and using other funds to extend the visit, if you are interested.</p><h3>&nbsp;</h3><h4 class="text-align-center"><strong>Completed nominations requested by Friday, June 27, 2025.</strong></h4><p class="text-align-center">To nominate a speaker, complete <a href="https://jaydrop.creighton.edu/link/JEF7vJyDNH8N8lTPSfMNOb" target="_blank">this nomination form</a> and email to JessicaSeaman@creighton.edu.&nbsp;</p><p class="text-align-center">For additional information or questions, contact the CUSOM Office of Faculty Development at 602.812.3134.</p><p><br><strong>Nominees should be:</strong></p><ul><li>Nationally and / or internationally recognized as an expert in their field.</li><li>Recognized for research and publications.</li><li>Identified as an effective speaker and able to offer a learning opportunity for participants.</li><li>Able to speak on a contemporary issue of interest in basic or clinical science.</li></ul><p><strong>Information to consider:</strong></p><ul><li>Up to six distinguished lecturers will be selected.</li><li>If your nominee is chosen as a finalist, you are expected to attend a virtual meeting to give a brief presentation and answer any questions for the selection committee.</li><li>The College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) will arrange lunch or dinner for attendees, and appropriate lecture space at Creighton University Medical Center Bergan Mercy (Omaha), Phoenix Health Sciences Campus (Phoenix), or another suitable campus location.</li><li>The CUSOM DLS Committee will send notice of acceptance to nominators, who will then reach out to nominated speaker to coordinate lecture date.</li><li>Lectures are coordinated cooperatively between the CPCE and the host department, including developing the agenda, travel itinerary, digital marketing, etc.</li><li>The School of Medicine’s Deans Office will contribute $2,500 for each lecture. The host department is responsible for expenses over and above this amount (average cost of a lecture/travel is around $4,000).</li><li>Currently, lectures are planned for hybrid attendance – in-person and virtual – but understand that delivery method may need to be adjusted dependent on and in accordance with current recommendations and restrictions from local and federal government and official health agencies. There are steps we can take to comply, such as limiting the number of in-person attendees or holding virtual-only lectures.&nbsp;</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p> Omaha, Phoenix, Online
