Micki Dietrich, MLS, head of access services and operations, Ian Ross Hughes, MLIS, research and instruction librarian, Rose Melonis, MLIS, research and instruction librarian, and Rachel Menzel, MLIS, research and instruction librarian, have published chapters in Supporting Neurodiverse Students in Academic Libraries, published by the American Library Association. "Helping Neurodiverse Students by Accepting Ourselves: Creating an Inclusive Atmosphere for Neurodiverse Library Workers," by Hughes, Melonis and Menzel, explores the crucial link between self-acceptance among library workers and the creation of truly inclusive spaces for neurodiverse students. "Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail: Neurodiversity as a Planning Component for Library Spaces," by Dietrich, Hughes, Melonis and Menzel, emphasizes the necessity of integrating neurodiversity considerations into the fundamental planning and design of library spaces to ensure accessibility and support for all and reviews design decisions from the 2023 renovation of the Reinert-Alumni Memorial Library.
