About the MFPFP Program

The Financial Planning and Financial Psychology master’s degree is ideal for financial planners, advisors and other wealth management professionals seeking to earn the CFP® designation and to enhance their skills in the emerging field of financial psychology. It is an also an excellent program for people looking to enter financial planning. The online program can be completed in as little as 16 months.

To earn this degree, you must complete 11 classes (33 credit hours). Four classes specifically pertain to financial psychology. This is a CFP Board® Registered Program and meets its educational requirements, including classes in investments, retirement, risk management, taxation and estate planning, as well as a capstone course. Financial psychology courses focus on behavioral finance, personal financial psychology, and the psychology of family finances.

  • Completion of undergrad statistics course (or noncredit tutorial may be completed for a fee, if needed)

Additional requirements for international students

International students are welcomed into this program so long as they complete it from their country of residence, as F-1 visas will not be issued.

International applicants must meet English language proficiency requirements.
