At Creighton, our Division of Student Life provides support for several culturally based student organizations. These organizations allow students to celebrate diversity, build relationships and share themselves with our community. You can see current organizations below. Additionally, the Creighton Intercultural Center Is committed to supporting students who might discern a need to establish new multicultural organizations or revitalize ones that are not currently active.

The African Student Association (ASFA) exists to inform and educate Creighton students about Africa. Through various social and cultural activities, ASFA presents the community with Africa’s diverse cultures, thoughts, and issues. It aims to provide a healthy and balanced view of a multicultural African, necessary for transnational community and understanding. The African Students’ Association shall be of service to the University and community and shall foster appreciation of ethnic and cultural diversity—major values of Creighton University.
We, the African American students of Creighton University, deplore discrimination and ignorance of our culture, and we wish to render aid to new students in adjusting to university life and educate the Creighton community about our culture. In order to do so, the Creighton University African American Student Association (CUASA) will be a support group for not only African American students, but also to all students who wish to work toward improving interracial relations on campus and in our society. In addition, CUASA will be a liaison between its members, the Creighton community, and the surrounding Omaha area. CUASA also pledges to be an active voice on campus, representing the University’s African American population and continually working towards improving the campus.
The GSA is a student organization that has been organized to address the topic of sexual orientation at Creighton. The group intends to address sexual identity within the Catholic, Jesuit tradition and to promote the Ignatian vision that affirms the goodness, worth, and dignity of every person.
CULSA is a student organization designed to promote the appreciation of Latino heritage and pride through cultural awareness among members of the Creighton community. Membership is open to the entire student body and is not limited to those of Latino descent. Students will have opportunities to gain valuable leadership skills and to experience fellowship through various group-building events; thus, creating a support system for members and advocating student retention.
Hui O Hawaii is an organization that promotes the “Aloha Spirit” to the students, faculty, and administration of Creighton University. The organization also provides guidance and support for students away from home. Hui O Hawaii recognizes the importance of culture and diversity and strives to preserve it.
Together, the members of ISA want to celebrate diversity and promote the rich heritage of the international community at Creighton University. Our goal is to construct an environment where people share, live, and love without any geographical or cultural barriers.
The Middle Eastern and North African Club is dedicated to fostering cultural exchange, advocacy, community building and networking for students who identify with or are interested in the Middle East and North Africa. By creating space for dialogue and celebration of cultural traditions, the club promotes understanding and appreciation of the region’s diversity. MENA also raises awareness of issues surrounding representation and inclusion, offers a supportive environment for students to connect with their heritage, and provides networking opportunities for those pursuing careers related to the region.
The Muslim Student Association of Creighton University aims to develop a sense of unity and spiritual understanding amongst Muslim students. Through meetings, constructive dialogues, and open discussions, we hope to build a better understanding among the Creighton community of the Islamic faith and teachings.
Our mission is to reach out and keep in contact with those who believe as we do, as well as those who are interested in learning more about the Islamic faith. It is to strengthen our spiritual understanding and our lives through readings from Al-Quran and Al-Hadith. The Jesuit mission is to educate the whole person. It also aims to develop the leaders of tomorrow. And through our meetings, prayers and dialogues, we aim to do the same by helping each other in all aspects of university life—spiritual, academic and social.
The Creighton University Native American Association (NAA) enhances, supports, and maintains the Native American culture within the Creighton community. Our goals are to enhance communication and diversity between Native American and non-Native American students at Creighton, as well as members of the surrounding community. We aim to incorporate cultural values into our educational experience. The Association also fosters fellowship and serves as a supportive foundation for students. We encourage all students at Creighton University to join the NAA and invite the community to participate in our events.
The South Asian Student Association (SASA) is an organization devoted to the cultural enrichment of CU students, faculty and the Omaha community. It exists for students who are willing to learn and appreciate South Asian culture as well as educate others about diversity on Creighton’s campus.
Creighton University Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) is proud to include culturally-based fraternity and sorority organizations. Creighton students are also affiliated with city-wide chapters of NPHC organizations.
