Jamie Barnes, MSN, PMHNP-BC, is an Instructor in the College of Nursing at Creighton University. Her professional interests include pediatric care, mental health, artificial intelligence in nursing education, and foundational clinical skill development. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education and a post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
Jamie currently practices as a PMHNP and has experience supporting patient populations across the lifespan, with a particular passion for pediatric behavioral health. Her scholarly work includes contributions to projects exploring pediatric resuscitation education and the integration of AI in nursing curricula.
While early in her research career, Jamie seeks to advance evidence-based approaches that enhance clinical competence, confidence, and learning outcomes in entry-level nursing education. Her goal is to contribute to emerging innovation in teaching, learning, and clinical practice, and to support the next generation of nurses through accessible, high-quality instruction grounded in compassion, curiosity, and rigor.
