Heather Buckwalter, MLIS

Heather Buckwalter serves as Resources & Systems Librarian and Associate Library Professor at the Creighton University School of Law Library. Her professional interests include library technical services, acquisitions, collection development, library systems, and electronic resources management. 

Heather earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986 and a Master of Information and Library Studies in 1991 from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Creighton University School of Law Library, she served as Manager for Library Services and Administration at the Detroit Bar Association from 1991 to 1996. 

Since joining the Creighton University School of Law Library in 1996, Heather has provided leadership in acquisitions, collection development, integrated library systems, and electronic resource management. Her work has focused on improving access to information resources, enhancing library operations, and supporting evolving technologies within academic law libraries. 

An active member of the profession, she has been a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) since 1991, the Mid-America Association of Law Libraries (MAALL) since 1996, and the Nebraska Library Association (NLA) since 2001. 

Heather has presented at regional, local, and national conferences on a variety of topics, including collection development, collection maintenance, library systems management, library system migrations, and data cleanup projects.
