Christine (Chris) Carmichael, MS LIS, joined Creighton University Libraries in 2005
as the Web Services and Business Reference Librarian after serving 12
years with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in various Library and
Information Management roles. As an Associate Library Professor in the
Research & Instruction department, she is the embedded liaison
librarian to the Heider College of Business, a few departments in the
College of Arts & Sciences, and the program librarian for the Ed.D.
in Interdisciplinary Leadership.
In addition to the Master of Science in Library and Information Science
from the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign, Chris has a BA in
English with a focus on Creative Writing and Shakespeare. She has poetry published in an anthology titled, “Carrying On: A Collection of Fan
Poetry Inspired by the T.V. Series Supernatural;” writes music reviews for The Riff and Modern Music Analysis, digital music publications hosted on Medium.com; and is a peer reviewer for the Journal of Academic Librarianship and PLoSOne.
Pursuing Creighton’s Ed.D. in Interdisciplinary Leadership, Chris’s research
interests include generative artificial intelligence & music,
leadership, knowledge management, and fandom studies. She is searching
for a link between librarianship and Irish pub songs. She still hasn’t
found what she’s looking for.
