Dawn Fichter, EdD, MSN, RN

Dawn Fichter, EdD, MSN, RN, is the Undergraduate Clinical Placement Coordinator in the College of Nursing at Creighton University. In this role, she coordinates undergraduate clinical placements across a variety of healthcare settings and aims to provide positive, high-quality clinical experiences that prepare nursing students for successful entry into professional practice. She earned her Doctor of Education in Public Health Policy, Master of Science in Nursing as a Nurse Educator, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a Business minor. Her clinical background includes experience in pediatric cardiology and school health. She has also served on the Harrison County Board of Health, contributing to initiatives that strengthen community health systems and preventive care. Her research focuses on nursing education, social determinants of health, and interprofessional collaboration, including her doctoral project on undergraduate nursing students’ knowledge of social determinants of health and attitudes toward interprofessional teamwork. Through her scholarship, she seeks to advance public health and promote collaborative practice, equipping future nurses to lead in dynamic and evolving healthcare environments.
