Bryan Harmer, PhD, CCP, FAEMS

Assistant Professor

Dr. Bryan Harmer serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Paramedicine at Creighton University's College of Nursing. He obtained his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences from Western Michigan University and holds a Master of Arts in Health Professions Education from Michigan State University. He completed his postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Medicine, where he conducted human factors research in virtual reality-based simulation.
Dr. Harmer's research employs a human factors approach to investigate clinical effectiveness and patient safety incidents in prehospital pediatric care. His notable work in the Augmenting the On-Scene Medic (ATOM) study examines the use of novel technology aimed at reducing pediatric medication dosing errors. His doctoral dissertation identified the latent conditions and characteristics of these errors. For his achievements in EMS, Dr. Harmer was honored as a Fellow of the Academy of Emergency Medical Services by the National Association of EMS Physicians.
