Kwanghyun Kim, MD, PhD

Assistant Professor

Dr. Kwanghyun Kim is a physician-scientist with a research focus in global health promotion and epidemiology. Dr. Kwanghyun Kim received his medical degree and Ph.D. in Public Health from Yonsei University, where he received his post-graduate medical training in public health and general preventive medicine as well. Prior to joining Creighton, he served Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a Visiting Assistant Professor and served at the Center for Humanitarian Health. He has also worked as an occupational health physician in South Korea and focused on promotion of workers' health. 

In 2022, Dr. Kim participated in the Lee Jong-Wook Fellowship Program and educated public health workers and officials from low- and middle-income countries on global health promotion and project evaluation. Since then, he served as a lecturer on both Yonsei University and Kosin University and taught epidemiology and global health.

Dr. Kim is a senior collaborator of Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Study and a member of the editorial board of Plos One. He has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and abstracts on global health promotion, cardiovascular epidemiology, mental health studies, and social determinants of health.
