Peggy M . Rupprecht, PhD

Associate Professor


Peggy M. Rupprecht is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science, Design, and Journalism at Creighton University, where she teaches classes on media literacy, American journalism history, global case studies, and public relations.  A qualitative phenomenologist, Dr. Rupprecht's research interests include global engagement, media literacy/disinformation, and SoTL. Prior to joining the Creighton faculty, Dr. Rupprecht served as the Director of Communications for Westside Community Schools, a public school district in Omaha, NE.  In this leadership role, she facilitated strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders, developed communication strategies for the website, publications, and social media, and served as the district’s primary news media spokesperson.  She is also an experienced broadcast journalist, having worked for KMTV in Omaha, NE and WBAY-TV in Green Bay, WI.  Dr. Rupprecht earned her Ph.D. in Human Sciences with a Specialization in Leadership Studies from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
