Misty M . Schwartz, PhD, RN

Misty Schwartz, R.N., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing. Her research interests include infant nutrition, health promotion across the lifespan, adolescent health, childhood obesity prevention, storytelling, and Pre-NCLEX success. Dr. Schwartz earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Leadership from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. She completed a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship in Health Promotion and participated as a scholar in the Health Disparities Research Training Award Program at the University of Alabama. Dr. Schwartz actively investigates associations between infant nutrient intake and growth and mentors undergraduate and graduate students on various scholarly projects. Her work has been featured as an Editor’s Pick in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Dr. Schwartz is a recipient of the Creighton University Nursing Faculty of the Year and the Deans Faculty of the Year awards. Her work aims to improve health outcomes across the lifespan, particularly in vulnerable populations.
