Shannon Martinez

Shannon Martinez, MEd, joined Creighton's IPH in fall 2025 as the safety educator for the University’s new Child Safety Center located in Creighton’s space at the Highlander Accelerator. Working with April Dixon, MPH, director of North Omaha community engagement, Martinez will partner with organizations and schools and work directly with families to provide education for injury prevention and safety measures for children both at the Child Safety Center and throughout the North Omaha community. Through this work, Martinez and the IPH community engagement team strive to establish and sustain Creighton-community partnerships and champion community-led efforts to improve childhood health outcomes in the community.
