Nursing
Trina K. Walker, DNP, APRN, FNP-C, is an Assistant Professor at Creighton University College of Nursing and a Lenke Scholar. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Creighton University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Walker is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and an active clinician.
Her research focuses on integrating pharmacogenomics into clinical practice and incorporating genomics into nursing education. Currently, she is involved in an interprofessional project aimed at integrating pharmacogenomics into primary care to support mental health management. Additionally, she co-developed
LINKAGE, a website designed to educate nursing students and educators about genomics-informed care and to facilitate connections among those interested in the field.
Dr. Walker’s work contributes to improving patient care across the lifespan—applying genomics from prenatal stages to end-of-life care—and helps shape future healthcare providers by promoting genomics-informed practice.
