The Institute for Population Health (IPH) is committed to improving equitable health outcomes for all people in the communities we serve. We do this through an innovative, collaborative and holistic approach that looks at all aspects of health, including mental, behavioral and physical health, medical care, and social and environmental influences.

Vision: To advance health justice for all, the IPH transforms community health and healthcare through education, research, service and advocacy.

Mission: Improve health and well-being by integrating population health activities across the University, health systems, and communities through effective, authentic partnerships that advance health equity and improve access to high-value care.

Population Health at the Crossroads of Policy and Practice

The Nov. 6, 2025, event will have a special focus on policy and its impact on access to care and addressing social needs for a healthy population. The keynote speaker is Benjamin Hoffman, MD, medical director of the Doernbecher Injury Prevention Program and director of the Tom Sargent Safety Resource Center at Oregon Health Sciences University's Doernbecher Children's Hospital and immediate past president of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
