Program Aims

  1. To train cardiology fellows with excellent clinical skills who can provide the highest quality cardiovascular care to patients across the region with a focus on professionalism, patient safety, and delivering evidence-based medicine in a cost-effective manner.
  2. With our curriculum, we aim to instill in our fellows knowledge-seeking skills that will enable them to critically analyze and embrace evidence-based medicine.  This will be accomplished through didactic lectures on the fundamental principles relating to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and will be measured by assessing the fellows’ progress in milestones that relate to practice-based learning and medical knowledge.
  1. Our program aims to give fellows extensive exposure to patients from diverse populations with common and rare cardiovascular disorders together with state-of-the-art tools and devices to enable the practice of evidence-based medicine.
  2. Our aim is to produce cardiologists who value scholarship and research as a tool to enable them to engage in life-long practice-based learning to apply new scientific knowledge to their patients and to guide future generations as teachers. Fellows will be taught relevant biostatistics underlying he design and interpretation of clinical trials, which will inform the development of scholarly activities such as research projects and publications of scholarly review.
  3. Our additional goal is to recruit and retain several of our trainees.
