The Creighton University ID Card

Today’s Creighton ID card is more than a visual credential; it is a key to accessing many of the services available to members of the Creighton Community.

Your ID card interfaces with many different systems, granting (or denying) access to services such as door access, email, library materials, meal plans and photocopies.

Obtain an ID Card through Email

Follow these steps for requesting a first-time campus ID card through email:

  1. Download the required forms. All forms are in PDF format and will require Acrobat Reader.
    1. Application (only required for distance students)

    2. Use a clear image of your face. Do not use filters commonly used on social media.
    3. Have someone else take your photo. No selfies.

    5. Use a plain white or off-white background.

Cards for Visitors, Guests and Contractors

All visitors, guests and contractors are required to have a card if they will be on campus for an extended period of time. The badge should be carried and displayed when on Creighton property and must be presented on request.

An authorized Creighton employee can request a guest ID by visiting ami.creighton.edu and logging in with their SSO credentials. Select “request access” on the left side of the menu then “sponsored individual” on the next page.

A guest ID needs to be requested before the guest arrives on campus to Card Services. A guest must wait 24 hours before going to Card Services after the guest net ID has been requested through AMI.

Care for Your Card

Students do not receive a new ID each year. The ID cards we issue are expected to the duration of your affiliation with Creighton.

Here are some tips to keep your card in top condition:

  • Never store your ID card in the direct sunlight or expose it to excessive heat.
  • Keep your card protected. Don't let it get scratched, chipped or cracked. Leather rubbing the card directly can dull the finish, making the text, image and magnetic strip difficult to read. We recommend carrying your card in a plastic sleeve or keychain cardholder. Vinyl bookstore/US Bank cardholders are available from Card Services at no charge.
  • Do NOT bend, fold or punch holes in your ID card. Doing so voids the warranty, and you will be assessed a damaged card fee.
  • Keep your card away from electromagnetic fields such as microwaves, televisions, telephones and stereos.
  • Oil from your fingers can build up on the card. We suggest cleaning the card once a semester with an alcohol wipe.

Because of the number of systems requiring your card, it is important to keep it in good condition. Lost, stolen or damaged cards can be replaced for a fee of $20.

You may EXCHANGE your ID for FREE if:

  • The card is your CURRENT card; you MUST exchange it.
  • One of the technologies has failed: printing, magnetic stripe or iCLASS chip.
  • The card must lay flat.
  • All edges must be factory sealed.
  • There can be no physical damage to the card.
  • If all of the above are met, we will print a new card at no cost to you.

If item one is not met, you would need to pay the cost of a replacement ID.  If items three, four or five are not met, you would need to pay the cost of a damaged card.

Report a Lost or Stolen Card

The cardholder is responsible for immediately reporting a lost or stolen card. Until the Card Services Office is notified about a missing card, you are liable for any fraudulent use.

Use eCard to immediately freeze an account.

If you are unable to find your Creighton ID, log in to Studentlink, select the “Lost/Stolen“ card on the left-hand side and click the deactivate button. Your account will immediately be “frozen,“ which will prevent fraudulent use. If you find your card after reporting it, simply visit the Card Services Office to have it reactivated.

Note: Frozen cards may be reactivated; replaced cards cannot.

What to do when your ID is missing.

If you cannot remember your BLUE credentials or are nowhere near a computer, call the Card Services Office at 402.280.4700. If it is during the weekend or evening hours, consider finding a computer to Studentlink. Public Safety can temporarily freeze your door access credentials, but this will not protect Dining Dollars or JayBuck$.

U.S. Bank Customers: For 24-Hour Customer Service or to report a lost or stolen US Bank card call: 1-800-USBANKS (872-2657). If you are also using your ID card as an ATM card, please report it to U.S. Bank.
