Surrounded by desert mountains, unforgettable sunsets, and the energy of one of the country’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas, Phoenix offers Magis teachers a unique place to grow as educators while helping build one of Magis’s newest communities.
The Phoenix Magis Community was established in 2025 as the Magis Catholic Teacher Corps expanded into the Southwest, responding to the needs of Catholic schools across the Diocese of Phoenix and building upon Creighton’s strong connections in the Valley. Now entering its second year, the Phoenix community continues to grow as new teachers, schools, and partnerships become part of the Magis story. Today, Magis teachers serve at St. Matthew Catholic School, St. Francis Xavier School, St. John XXIII Catholic School, and Brophy College Preparatory, supporting students from elementary through high school.
Life in Phoenix is rooted in intentional Christian community. Magis teachers live, learn, pray, and grow together while navigating the joys and challenges of teaching and graduate school. Through shared meals, community activities, faith experiences, and everyday moments, teachers build relationships that provide support, friendship, and a sense of home throughout their Magis experience.
Outside the classroom, there is plenty to experience together. From hiking desert trails and exploring Tempe Town Lake and downtown Phoenix to cheering on the Suns and Diamondbacks, discovering favorite taco shops and coffee spots, and gathering beneath desert sunsets, Phoenix offers countless opportunities to build relationships and make the Valley feel like home.
As Magis begins its second year in Phoenix, this community has the exciting opportunity to continue shaping traditions, deepening partnerships, and creating a foundation for generations of Magis teachers who will follow.
Forming Teachers. Serving Students. Transforming Communities.
