Partnering with Families to Keep Kids Safe
The Creighton Child Safety Center is committed to helping families and caregivers in our community keep children safe and healthy. Through hands-on education and access to affordable safety items, the center provides resources designed to prevent injuries and promote well-being.
An initiative from the Institute for Population Health, the center is partnering with parents, caregivers, professionals and organizations to identify needs and create meaningful solutions that make a lasting impact. Explore our resources below.

Safety Equipment (Upcoming)
In the near future, community members will be able to buy reduced-price equipment to make their spaces safer.
Soon, Omaha families will be able to visit the center to shop for things like:
- Bike/Scooter helmets
- Outlet covers
- Door and cabinet latches
- Window stops and cord safety wraps for window blinds
- Furniture wall straps
- Child safety gates
- Gun and medication lock boxes
Free Safety Training (Upcoming)
The Child Safety Center is working with community partners to provide free safety training for parents and caregivers. Soon, we’ll offer sessions like:
- Safe infant sleep training
- Hands-only CPR training
- Car seat fittings
- Stop the Bleed training

Our missions align in a shared goal of preventing injuries and promoting the health and safety of every child. Through education, outreach and access to essential safety resources, Creighton’s Child Safety Center and Children’s Nebraska are working hand-in-hand to empower families and strengthen community well-being.
