Occupational Therapy Pediatric Fellowship
Strengthen the care you provide for children.
In this Omaha-based fellowship program, you’ll participate in interprofessional outpatient practice at Creighton Pediatric Therapy and inpatient practice at CHI’s Bergan Mercy Hospital. Outpatient practice focuses on general pediatrics and feeding, eating and swallowing. Inpatient practice is focused on care in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). The program also involves providing services through individualized and group intervention within BoysTown Schools. Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to teach in Occupational Therapy for Children and Youth I and II, as well as provide student supervision in a clinical setting for Level I fieldwork and a service-learning trip to the Dominican Republic.
Note that clinic time may vary and can include evening hours.

Application Process
- Mentoring by highly motivated and experienced pediatric faculty and practitioners
- Support to attend state and national conferences and the AOTA Fieldwork Educator Certification Course
- Interprofessional common core curriculum and collaboration with physical therapy residents and faculty
- Engage in a scholarly research project with a platform presentation at the conclusion of the fellowship year
- Participate in academic service-learning and an international service trip to the Dominican Republic

Application Criteria
- Graduates from accredited occupational therapy doctorate programs preferred. We will consider applicants from accredited occupational therapy master’s programs.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills in clinical and academic settings.
- Recommend completion of a Level II Fieldwork, Doctoral Capstone Experience or practice experience in the focused area of practice.
- Demonstrate strong leadership and teamwork abilities to work with a variety of individuals, including family members, clients, community members and other professionals.

- Applications are reviewed by a penel of fellowship faculty. Qualified candidates will be invited for an on-site interview. Fellowship programs begin on August 1.
